Am I infected with Lyme disease?

Am I infected with lyme diseaseDetection of Lyme disease is not easy, giving rise to the question ‘am I infected with Lyme disease’? Lyme disease, also known as Lyme borreliosis, is an infectious disease caused by bacteria genus Borrelia. Lyme disease is most common in undeveloped countries and is carried by arthropods. Humans can be infected by borreliosis bites from an infected tick.
The infection is not contagious, although it is possible to transfer the disease from mother to fetus through the placenta.
Lyme disease can affect multiple organs and systems and has quite a few symptoms. However, not all patients will suffer from the same complaints, and many of these complaints are not unique to this disease and may occur in other conditions. The incubation period (time from bite to onset of symptoms) is usually one to two weeks but can be much less (days) or longer (months, even years). The disease occurs in several stages and can be treated with special prescription after accurate diagnosis of the lyme disease.
