Probiotics for diarrhea in antibiotic treatment

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

Probiotics for diarrhea in antibiotic treatmentOne of the side effects of taking antibiotics is diarrhea. The meta-analysis of 63 clinical trials concluded that treatment with probiotics for diarrhea in antibiotic treatment significantly reduced  diarrhea as a side effect of taking antibiotics.
Antibiotics cause diarrhea in 30% of cases of patients taking antibiotics. The probiotics play an important role in the recovery of the intestines during and after the taking of antibiotics . Maintaining the balance between beneficial  pathogenic microorganisms in this environment provides a healthy low pH. The lower pH is favorable for the development of non-pathogenic microorganisms, such as bifido- and lacto-bacterias that emit specific antimicrobial substances and improve the body’s immunity.
Sixty three of these trials involving a total of nearly 12 000 patients documented lower risk of diarrhea due to probiotics, in both children and adults.

Problems during PregnancyThere can be quite a few things that cause problems during pregnancy. In the nine months of pregnancy, changes occur in a woman’s body that make her frequently to ask what is normal and what is not and whether you should consult with their obstetrician. For some mothers the slightest pain is cause for panic and visit the doctor’s office. At the other extreme are women who ignore potentially dangerous symptoms, considering them as a normal part of pregnancy. In fact distinguish dangerous from the normal signals of pregnancy is sometimes difficult even for specialists. So when in doubt, always better to consult your doctor.
Bleeding
One of the biggest problems during pregnancy can be bleeding from the vagina which can mean many different things. For example: if you bleed heavily and are experiencing severe pain and cramps in the abdomen during the first trimester, it may be a symptom of ectopic pregnancy. Tubal (ectopic) pregnancy occurs when the fertilized egg is implanted outside the uterus. The condition can be life threatening and requires immediate medical attention. Major bleeding accompanied by cramping, can be a sign of threatened abortion in the first or early second quarter. During the third trimester of pregnancy the same symptoms may be caused by detachment of the placenta from the underlying uterine lining. Regardless of the type and severity of bleeding during pregnancy, it is a symptom that should not be overlooked lightly and requires medical attention – the experts are unanimous. They call if you notice blood in the vagina, can not wait, and to consult as early as possible with a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology.
Severe nausea and vomiting
Nausea and vomiting may be part of a normal pregnancy are one of the problems during pregnancy that cause worry for the expectant mother. However, they must be addressed, especially if they interfere with your normal diet. In these cases the risk of dehydration and deficiency of nutrients is increased and can be are a serious threat to both mother and fetus.
Baby activity decreased significantly
Among the problems during pregnancy that cause pregnant mums is when the baby does not move as actively as it has which may mean that it is not receiving enough oxygen and nutrients from the placenta. But how do you know that?  A relatively safe and effective test is to have drink a cold drink or eat something, then  lie on one side to provoke the fetus to move. Although there is no optimal or critical number of movements you should generally feel an average of 10 or more kicks in two hours. If you are still worried call a doctor for more help.
Early in the third quarter contractions
Contractions can be a symptom of premature birth and can be a major one of the problems during pregnancy. There are so-called real and false contractions that often mislead expectant mothers. False, also known as Braxton Hicks (Braxton-Hicks) contractions are unpredictable, irregular and do not increase in power and intensity. They will disappear within an hour of taking  fluids. In contrast, real contractions get stronger and last longer and be. Council of specialists is not risk if you suspect that something wrong is become a pattern, when this is happening  it is time to consult a doctor.
Constant and severe headaches, abdominal pain, visual disturbances, and swelling in the second and third trimesters
These symptoms may be caused by a condition called preclampsia. It is characterized by high blood pressure and elevated protein in urine and usually develops after the 20th week of pregnancy. Preclampsia is dangerous and must be treated promptly.

No use of violence in the education of children

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

ChildParents do not always consciously spank the child. In most cases this happens when you lose patience and fall into despair. Sometimes they can only hurt the child so that several times he repeated that it should not be done if a child has heard them. “All parents know how annoying and insulting is when children do not listen to them, but the outcome of the situation is not violence,” said a team of specialists. According to the results of their study commissioned by the American Academy of Pediatrics, 25 percent of families with two parents beat their children at least once a week. These 25 percent are of the opinion that this method of education helps. But actually it is only superficial results, scientists refute them: “As a rule, children are often struck by their parents as an educational method, begin to lie, they develop children’s aggression, anger and other deviations from their social behavior. These children are unable to make much needed and important difference between “good and bad,” they more often than others behave incorrectly behind the back “of their parents. Therefore unlikely that method of education can be defined as effective.
Experts offer several alternatives to the far better and lasting results:
1. Be firm and patient – the child will surely hear you if you speak firmly, but not with increased tone.
2. Pause – if you tell your child that you are now very angry and will therefore return to this issue later, in that it is not bad. It is better to postpone for a few minutes to talk and relax than to apply force.

As our immunity begins to form in the womb of the mother and finally matures to 12 our 14th year, it was logical to make the conclusion that its strength depends on the particular diet during this period.
