Therefore it is essential to keep them healthy. We present some fact about them that are little known, but this does can be useful in everyday life for everyone – to protect the health of your teeth and your entire mouth:
1. Yogurt is just as harmful as sweet
Sugar is not the only enemy of our teeth. Acidic, low pH acidic foods such as confectionery, soft drinks and fruit juices soften the teeth, a result is the appearance of erosions of the enamel and reducing the size of the teeth themselves. Studies show that citric acid is extremely harmful. The worst nightmare for children’s teeth are very acidic and sweet foods that adhere to them. They “melt” teeth like a piece of ice left at room temperature. Moreover, children’s teeth are not fully formed since enamel maximum yield strength only ten years after the growth of teeth. In childhood it is softer and therefore more easily susceptible to the harmful effects of acids. Adults also consume no small amount of acidic foods that pose a threat to the health of teeth. However, if you decide to eat something sour, do it best with the main meal – it will reduce the harmful effects. More is better then chew gum containing xylitol because it helps the prevention of caries.
2. Email is the most solid substance in the human body, but it is brittle
Ice, popcorn and piercing mouth could drop off part of the tooth. Dentists recommend not to consume popcorn and ice products, especially if you feel your teeth are not as healthy as they were years ago. The rigidity of popcorn and ice can be compared with that of the stone and why we should be very careful in the consumption of these foods. Metal objects such as piercing mouth is a haven for bacteria that can destroy tooth enamel. Study of a prestigious U.S. journal American Journal of Dentistry shows that between 14 percent and 41 percent of people wearing piercings, suffer from tooth fracture and greater than normal wear, but as more serious complications of this condition is represented major oral deformities and loss of teeth.
3. In any age you can no tooth
Although most people have a full set of 32 teeth, some are born with missing. Most often the teeth, which grow are wise. Another frequent lack lateral incisors are located in the large front teeth. Lack of teeth can inherit. However, the most common cause of tooth loss is gum disease and caries.
4. Large amounts of fluoride are harmful to teeth
The fact is that fluoride is important for maintaining healthy teeth. But children under 8 years of age who are taking too much fluoride can develop a condition called fluorosis. Normally it starts with the appearance of white spots on teeth, but later become brown. Unfortunately fluorosis stains are “internal”, which means that whitening procedures will not have the desired effect. Many fluoride is also cause for brittle teeth. The problem most often occurs when ingestion of toothpaste for children. We recommend that you watch your child while you wash your teeth, to make sure that it absorbs paste. Tell him should use little brush on it, so as not to swallow by mistake. Some dentists even recommend that children only use toothpastes containing fluoride.

If you wonder why your child eat only two or three bites of dinner, but no problem to destroy three large balls of ice cream, accused his growing bones. New studies show that children who grow rapidly, eat more sweet stuff than those growing at slower pace. Survey given to 143 children aged between 11 and 15 years fresh water and a sour orange juice. Then classified the children into two groups – a favorite sweet and preferred less sweet. They found that children who have a high level of biomarker for growing bone in the urine is more likely to be in the group preferred sweet things. “Has long been known that the growing increase of children and the desire for sweet things -” Give me some candy, Grandma, “said Susan Koldlel, professor of dental health in the” Washington University, author of the new studios. They used many calories when they grow, and the body responds to this growing need with the sweet stuff. On the other hand, children who are given a very sweet things from the adults, of course, prefer them. So researchers wonder whether the preference can be attributed to biological or social factors such as whether the child is given a variety of foods to eat and that do not yet feel the pressure to avoid sustaining food to remain low.
“While the reasons for children to choose between cake and spinach can be very, they can be made of sugar consumed by young bodies to efficiently process the sugar in a fuel for growing,” said Koldlel. Other studies say that has not yet demonstrated the relationship between fast growing and a preference for sweet. “This is a provocative theory that the body needs something sweet to satisfy your need for calories,” said Lona Sandon. Researchers also tested the children of biological factors such as puberty, including hormones and found that they are not related to preference for sweet. What all this means for parents who are trying to overcome “cookie monster” in their children?
Parents should try to offer fruits, which also contain sugar, but it is natural and low. For vegetables Koldlel recommended are offered as a sweet raspberry sauce. And if the child still refuses to eat certain vegetables, continue to offer them / Studies show that some children have to show a particular food 15 times before you wish to try it out. Parents should also remember that the time will come when the child will only leave candy without being press. Most likely at the end of puberty.
